The view brings you here, the food leaves you less than satisfied. I had the potato crusted trout with garlic mashed potatoes. Potatoes were lumpy (don't know if that's how they do it in Idaho?) and tasteless. The trout was not very easy to eat with the hashbrown like potatoes fried around it. The trout was okay, but had no seasoning. The view is free from the trail, you don't need to spend the extra amount of money to eat at the restaurant.

So apparently Canyon Crest thought they needed to change...EVERYTHING. We received a gift card for a wedding present and were SO excited to go. When we got there, everything was different. Our main problem was the menu changes. No more halibut for my husband, and no Filet Mignon for myself. We found nothing to order, and we were so disappointed. We won't be frequenting here with the new changes.

If Canyon Crest were located anywhere else, I'd probably tell you not to bother - but it really is the best option in Twin Falls and the view is so amazing that it makes up for a bit of a snoozy menu. Also, though the menu is boring, they execute it well and the service is great - so there's that. I could go on for days about the view....the sun setting...a rainstorm coming up but staying on the other side of the canyon...the river meandering by..blah blah blah. Seriously, eat outside even if you have to wait for a table. I'm an East Coaster who has lived in cities most of my life - and if I hadn't had to chew my food, my mouth would have been open the whole time. Also, order steak. Any kind of steak. Put meat on your plate.

Yesterday (Thursday night) was my first time coming here after hearing many people rave about this place. We had a party of 5 (3 ladies, 2 men) where we sat outside to look at the beautiful scenery. It was "ladies night" so half off drinks and appetizers. Mario V was our waiter who spoke reallly fast. At the begining when taking our drink order he seem to be in a rush. He asked us if we were ready to order and since my mom was debateing on two drinks, he just quickly said "ok, so your not ready to order, i'll give you a moment" and walked away very fast. Later he came back to get our drink and food order. The drinks were ok and very strong. It took a while for us to get our appetizers. When we did, we rarely saw our waiter AT ALL. This is what we got: 1. Calamari: Good! 2. Steamer Clams: ok, came with bread which tasted stale and very chewy. 3. Wings: (Asian) Yummy 4. Potato Skins: Looks like a 2 baked potato cut in half, wasn't impressed. 5. Fruit Salad (cocktail) : tasted good, strong 6. Bahama Mama (cocktail): good, strong The waiter asked us if we wanted ranch with our wings and we said yes, but never got it. We finished all of our food and i was still waiting on my potato skins. When Mario finally came, I told him and he rushed back inside.. which again took a long time to get the potato skins, which wasn't even worth my time waiting for. We asked him if we could order more food, but he said they were closed, umm, ok? My mom also had a coupon she bought for a fundraiser, but he wouldn't take it because it was ladies night. Overall, food was ok, and serviced sucked. I won't be coming back. Don't spend your hard working money on this place, that's for sure. Sad thing was we were still hungry and went to Buffalo Wild Wings to eat, WOW.

Worst meal and service we've ever had!! Never got our drinks, salad was wilted, potatoes were too salty, steak was overcooked. The second one was almost as bad by the time I got it. Never got more water until we got our bill. The only good part was they comped our entire dinner which was a goodwill gesture. However we won't go back.

This used to be by far, my favorite place to go out for a nice dinner. A group of us went last week and the menu had changed! Very dissapointing to say the least. I was stuck having to order something I didn't even like because there were no other options. And not for the better! No more halibut and the choice of salads has changed. My ceasar salad was a wedge of lettuce with dressing on it. If they don't want to loose their business they had better bring back the foods that made them great in the first place. Are you listening Canyon Crest? Your competition is is going to be seeing a lot more of your cutomers.

so I ate at this place for the American Airline miles but I was impressed with the view outside of the restaurant. The food is ok. not overly priced. I was able to get a good meal. Nice place.

Drinks: got the Carrot Tequila Sunrise, delicious not too sweet, flavors were well incorporated. Appetizers: Gator bites & Elk meat ball. The Gator bites were yummy came with a horseradish sauce and a sweet & sour dipping sauce, deep fried tasted like chicken mixed with fish but not in a gross way. Elk meat ball was delivered in a tomato sauce with a chunk of cheese on top , and melted cheese inside different taste not as strong as beef or lamb, subtle; also very tasty. Dinner: got the prime rib and baked Idaho potato (little bit dry). good cut of meat, nicely marbled, medium rare was perfect. served with horseradish and au jus. Dessert: went for the bread pudding- it was tasty but honestly i like my husband's recipe better. the almonds on top tried to choke me. and after subtle flavors all night long the almonds and the sauce were a bit much. Why the 3 stars? We sat in the lounge/bar and the TV was too loud, then the music was too loud. we were a large group of 6 and there weren't a lot of other customers. The plus was we sat on the rotating table so we each got a view of the canyon at sunset. The Idaho baked potato, I had more expectations of it; after tasting the mashed sweet potato I wish I'd had that.

My boyfriend and I love this place. We eat here about once a month. Everything we have tried has been good. The food is good, the service is good, the ambience is good. We've only been for dinner and a few comedy shows and midget wrestling. Both were lots of fun but have to admit the midget wrestling is my favorite so far! "Come on Baby Jesus!" :) We haven't gone for the dj night but plan to soon.

Full bar with a great martini and a nice flat screen TV. The food is so-so. Stick to the red meat. Stay clear of the mussels and clams unless you like them drowning in a sea of alfredo consistency. The waiter could have been more knowledgeable and helpful about the menu but was pleasant. They were nice about returning my clams for another dish!

High quality delicious food.

Fantastic! Dinner last Friday night. Arrived a little early so had a drink at the bar. The bar is beautiful, the bartenders attentive and skilled. When my party arrived, we were seated at a nice table with a great view! Were quickly greeted by our Server who was very knowledgable and attentive. 2 of us ordered the 12 Oz.New York Strip (excellent) with the Horseradish-Aged Cheddar Potatoes Au Gratin (WOW!!) and a House Salad (good). The other person ordered the Cedar Plank-Smoked Salmon (she LOVED it) with Sweet Potato Mashers - Served with sweet bourbon butter (fantastic) and a House Salad. For dessert we ordered a Crème Brulee (Very Very good!) and some kind of lemon-cake-dessert that was on Special for the evening (also very good). All-in-all, it was a very good experience and I would recommend this restaurant again to anyone looking for a place to dress up for dinner.

Canyon Crest is a great facility, the staff is friendly, the food was great and it has a wonderful view overlooking the Snake River Canyon.

All new menu is a disappointment. Venue is excellent though.

I was skeptical of the menu but the herbed chicken sandwich on a challa bun (minus the mustard, havarti and avocado because I am picky) was excellent and the sweet potato fries were amazing! Service was wonderful and the view beyond compare.

Canyon Crest is an OK restaurant. The location is beautiful and the building itself is very nice. The food seems to be hit and miss, although I've only eaten there 4 times. Not a huge selection on the menu either, but it is a nice atmosphere for good, quiet dining.

I've been here a few times, and have found the food to be very good. I ordered a burger on one occasion. It was huge, and loaded with toppings. I ordered mine with grilled onions and big chunks of blue cheese. I must say, I have never been disappointed with the food. The service however, leaves much to be desired. The servers seem to be inexperienced, and just lack good customer service. We came here last weekend for the Sunday brunch. We were seated promptly, but did not seem to have a server assigned to our table. One server passed by our table several times, but did not ask if we'd been helped. Finally, I grabbed him as he was about to fly by us once more. He said he didn't know if he was supposed to be our server, but he'd find out. About 5 minutes later a young lady appeared and introduced herself as our server, and took our drink order. A minute or so later she came back to tell us that all the champagne flutes were dirty and they were washing them. When we made our way to the buffet we found that at least half of the food trays were empty, and the prime rib was also out. It was about a half hour before anything was filled, But eventually they did bring out more food, and prime rib. I will say though, everything I tried was really delicious. Like I said, I've never been disappointed by the food. We will go back. I am curious to see if it will be better next time.

I went there this past weekend for lunch with my parents from Cali. The weather was warm so we sat outside for lunch and a few beers. I must say that we were impressed with the speed of service and quality of food. I have been to CC in the past and have been severely disappointed: lousy, slow service, dirty floors, incompetent staff, etc. But this time around it was what I expected: decent food and quick service. Granted there were only three parties (about 10 people all together) in the entire restaurant including us so that could have helped with speed of service. UPDATE: 5/2/2014: So, why the two stars? Well, it's an improvement from the first few times I went, but it still has a long way to go to earn a third. The experience I mentioned was just an exception thus far.

Absolutely amazing! It is hard to beat the view... anywhere. The venue is quite beautiful. Food and service are on spot. Definitely recommend. Jewel on the Snake!

You come for the view, the food is great...but the service! Amazing! Our waiter Michael was wonderfully attentive and made our lunch even more festive.

This was just an odd time. We came here because we happened to be in town on Valentine's day. The place was packed and we couldn't get a reservation until 9 p.m. I am so torn on this review, because the food quality was really pretty good, at times, but the portions and service were pretty awkward. The food was actually great. My wife had salmon with asparagus and I had grilled lamb / elk and sweet potato hash (off of the prixe fixe menu). However, the servings of meat were tiny. But the lamb and elk were seriously cooked and seasoned so well! Perfectly rare, just like I wanted. But I left feeling totally hungry. The lobster bisque I ordered as an appetizer was just creamy broth, no chunks of anything. It tasted great, but I'm used to consuming some actual lobster in a bisque. My wife had ravioli with shrimp, which was much better and actually filling. The dessert was a joke. I opted for nutella crepe cake, which was seriously a ton of crepes with nutella in between. I imagine one giant stack, of which they cut me a small slice. Pretty boring. My wife had red berry napoleon, which involved a really, really hard biscuit-y thing with some yellowish creme sauce and a few berries. Again, tiny and just not appetizing. The service was pretty awkward, in that servers were running around frantically and people were obviously being served somewhat factory-style. When people brought us our food, we didn't recognize them (they hadn't been our waiter prior) and they had no idea who the food was for. I think this is probably some of the finest dining in Twin Falls and the chefs definitely know what they're doing, just limited with portion size and the oddness of a V-day prixe fixe menu. The waitstaff was totally friendly, just maybe a little overworked for the event.

The process are still a little bit high but the quality of food has improved. I love getting their tri tip and blue cheese au gratin potatoes.

Great food with an awesome view of the snake river. You can dine inside or on the veranda with a 240 degree view of Gods work at its finest. The bar keep pours long and often great times to be had by all who patronize this fine establishment

Everything we had here was great. The burgers were delicious as was the Caesar salad (it was supposed to be prepped table side but it wasn't). The martinis were great. The view was great. Service was great. All great!!

A new Chef has made for a dramatic improvement in the quality of the food here. In the past the view was the only good thing about it and that was only available outside in the summer. The new chef has upped the ante significantly. Sweet potato ravioli and the pork chop glazed with cranberries. I've been back a few times now and it has not disappointed.

Came between lunch and dinner and had a wonderful experience. Service was good and even the cook came out to see how we liked our food. Had the seared chicken and it was just right.

After going to Canyon Crest four or five times, we said we would never go back. The food, the service, the entire experience was awful. With a new chef and hearing they had new staff we decided to give them another try. This past Friday Night we went to dinner and we were pleasantly surprised when we were instantly sat (outside on the patio which features an amazing view) and within 1 minute the staff brought water with lemon while we were waiting on our waitress. Canyon Crest has a completely new menu. My significant other ordered the chicken with mushroom cream sauce, rice pilaf and wedge salads. I got tri tip steak with whipped garlic potatoes and a wedge salad. We strive to fine great restaurants. We don't mind paying food good food and good service. Needless to say our dinner, our service, our experience was completely different than our prior experiences. We are so glad we gave them one final chance because our dinner experience blew us away. Definitely one of the best restaurants if not the best restaurant in the Magic Valley. We topped off dinner with a slice of cheesecake which was just amazing. Prices were reasonable, portions were great and the food quality was 5 star. The food was so good that we went back for brunch this morning. Their brunch was amazing. We had omelettes which were very well cooked along with amazing breakfast potatoes which had a phenomenal seasoning on them. After both meals at Canyon Crest this weekend we are convinced they are doing something right. We heard other people talking at the restaurant as to how much better Canyon Crest was and how great their food was. Their new chef, new menu and new staff have definitely made this one of the best restaurant venues in Twin Falls and in the Magic Valley and we would highly recommend it.

I did a little research before a road trip that has brought me to Twin Falls and I've been looking forward to eating here for a few weeks, but it wasn't meant to be. Tonight the restaurant was nearly empty, and I was greeted and seated almost immediately. After about 5 minutes someone brought water and assured me that my server would be right with me. After a total of 15 minutes with no other interaction, I left. If they had been busy I would have been able to overlook a lapse in service, but sometimes there is just no excuse. I'd give this one a pass.

The only redeeming quality about this place was the view, and they can't take credit for that. The patio would have been very lovely but we came as the sun was setting and the light became very dim. I like to see my food when I eat it, thank you. Put in some lights or something. Actually, the reason we even sat on the patio was because there was an ungodly racket coming from the live jazz duet in the dining room. Don't get me wrong, I love jazz, freaking adore it, but this was not good by any means. Outside was the only place to escape. the music should have been our first warning that the whole night was going to be a train wreck. I decided on the potato wrapped trout for $20. I had had this before at a little place in downtown Meridian called Rick's Press Room. So I expected to be delighted. Was I? The fish tasted like it had been cooked and slapped on the plate. Not a hint of seasoning anywhere. I had to salt it and add lemon myself. (Though we had to steal the salt off another table because they hadn't given us any.) the potatoes were crispy curlicue things that really had no business being on a delicate piece of meat. The whole thing had me aching for a cream sauce. Just a shame. And definitely not worth $20. Oh and they didn't bring us our complimentary basket of bread until we asked for it. Everyone at the table was unimpressed with the food and service. It has me wondering how this place stays in business.
